With over 35 years of experience in engineering and project management, Bob Byrd brings a wealth of knowledge to the design-build field and has proven to be consistently successful in providing excellent customer service to corporate, industrial, higher education and government clients.
His work experience began with an Electric Utility Company and led to a position in the manufacturing environment. Focus turned to the Construction and Design of HVAC and Plumbing Systems in 1985.
Bob was a managing partner in a Jackson, Mississippi based architectural/engineering firm for 17 years.
In January of 2016, he started Design Build and Engineering Services, LLC. in order to focus on designing HVAC and plumbing systems for the design-build marketplace and to provide direct contact engineering services.
Bob has held a Professional Engineer License since 1992. Licenses are held in the states of Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina and Indiana.
In 2006 Bob earned Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) by the AABC Commissioning Group. He has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the commissioning process and a demonstrated ability to provide professional commissioning services independent of contractors and manufacturers. Associated responsibilities include:
Managing commissioning projects
Preparing commissioning documentation
Conducting commissioning activities
Coordinating operator training activities
Completing warranty phase activities
Conducting existing building commissioning
Conducting ongoing commissioning
Working independently with building owners on their behalf
In 2015 Bob earned his certification as a Energy Management Professional (EMP) and can provide building owners a better way to plan effective energy management, manage energy information, implement energy management programs, manage budgets and finances, implement energy efficient projects, and manage energy communications. Associated responsibilities include:
Facilitate the AABC Energy Management Program effectively
Guide clients toward efficient building operations, related performances, and sustainability goals
Perform existing building commissioning (EBCx); testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB); Data collection and detailed analysis; services in all levels of energy audit requirements and maintain respect and independence for all manufacturers, vendors, contractors, and other parties to prevent conflicts of interest.
